
Makassar, June 3, 2025 — On Tuesday, June 3, 2025, Nanchang University (NCU) of China and Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) of Indonesia formally executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA). The signing ceremony was conducted in the Vice Rector IV Meeting Room, located on the sixth floor of the Rectorate Building at the Unhas Tamalanrea Campus. This agreement is aimed at enhancing collaboration, with a particular emphasis on the field of engineering.
The delegation from NCU comprised Xiong Jingang, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Engineering and Construction; Yang Zheng, Vice Dean of the School of Tourism; Liu Xiaochuan, Vice Dean of the School of Humanities; Song Wenjie, Vice Dean of the International Education College; and Nie Yujuan, a staff member of the Confucius Institute Affairs Office at the International Education College. Additionally, Professor Wu Xiaoling, head of the Mandarin Language Center at Unhas in China, was in attendance.
Representing Universitas Hasanuddin were Prof. Dr. Eng. Adi Maulana, ST., M.Phil., the Vice Rector of Partnership, Innovation, Entrepreneurship, and Business, along with representatives from the Faculty of Engineering.
The memorandum of understanding (MoU) and memorandum of agreement (MoA) encompass joint initiatives in academic exchange, collaborative research, language education, and cross-institutional development. This agreement is anticipated to broaden cooperation opportunities, particularly in engineering and related fields, and to foster cultural and educational exchange between Indonesia and China.
This collaboration represents a significant step for Universitas Hasanuddin in establishing robust global partnerships and enhancing the international reputation of the Faculty of Engineering.
