The Department of Environmental Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, organized a Guest Lecture entitled “WastePlant for Food Waste Management” on 18 June 2026 at the CSA Building, First Floor. The event featured Andrew Hayim de Vries, who shared practical insights into innovative technologies and sustainable approaches for managing food waste in support of environmental protection and the circular economy.

The lecture brought together students, lecturers, and researchers interested in environmental sustainability and waste management. The session aimed to broaden participants' understanding of current challenges in food waste management while introducing practical solutions that can be implemented in both urban and institutional settings.

During his presentation, Andrew Hayim de Vries explained the concept of WastePlant, an integrated approach that transforms food waste into valuable resources through environmentally friendly treatment processes.
