The Departments of Civil and Mechanical Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) have further advanced their academic collaboration through the establishment of a Sandwich Program in partnership with Saga University, Japan. This initiative was officially launched during a visit on 10 September 2025, attended by Sato Kazuya from Saga University, alongside Prof. Dr.Eng. Ir. Tri Harianto, ST., MT., IPU., AER., and Prof. Dr. Ir. Rustan Tarakka, ST., MT., IPM., representing Unhas.

The program is designed to offer students an immersive international academic experience, enabling them to undertake a portion of their studies and research at Saga University. Additionally, it aims to strengthen collaboration between faculty and researchers at both institutions, particularly in the fields of civil and mechanical engineering.

The Sandwich Program not only enhances the academic experience of Unhas students but also facilitates knowledge exchange and collaborative research initiatives. Through participation in such programs, Unhas continues to establish itself as a center for international academic collaboration in engineering, equipping graduates with a global outlook and competitive skills.
