The Department of Architecture within the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) engaged in a collaborative discussion with the Department of Built Environment, Faculty of Built Environment and Surveying, Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) on 18 September 2025. Dr. Ir. Ar. H. Edward Syarif, ST., MT., IAI, representing Unhas, led the academic visit, which aimed to explore potential collaborative opportunities in the fields of architecture and the built environment.

The discussion encompassed possibilities for joint research initiatives, academic mobility, and future participation in international conferences, with a particular focus on sustainable and regional architectural development. Additionally, the meeting provided a platform for exchanging perspectives on the evolving role of architecture in addressing environmental and cultural challenges in Southeast Asia. Both institutions demonstrated a strong commitment to enhancing educational quality and fostering cross-border academic partnerships.
