The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University recently hosted a delegation of scholars from Kyushu University, Japan. The delegation included Professor Hirofumi Nakayama, Dr. Yasuhiro Sugisaki, and a student from the Department of Urban and Environmental Engineering within the Faculty of Engineering. Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Muhammad Isran Ramli, Dean of the Faculty of Technology (FT-UH), extended a warm welcome to the visitors in the Dean's Office.

This visit was part of Professor Nakayama's guest lecture series, entitled "History of Waste Management, Legislation, and Policies in Japan." The lecture, organized by the Department of Environmental Engineering, examined the evolution of Japan's waste management practices through the integration of governmental policies, advanced technology, and public awareness.

Additionally, the delegation announced that a memorandum of understanding (MoU) is currently under review at the university level and is anticipated to be signed by the chancellors of Hasanuddin and Kyushu universities. This MoU is expected to promote extensive collaboration across various faculties and scientific disciplines in the future.
