The Department of Architecture within the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) has fortified its academic collaboration with Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) through the organization of the International Conference on Regional Architecture & Built Environment (seniBINA 2025), which took place on 25 August 2025 at UKM, Malaysia.

This partnership was represented by Prof. Ir. Dr. Mohammad Syuhaimi Ab Rahman from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia and Dr. Ir. Ar. H. Edward Syarif, ST., MT., IAI from Universitas Hasanuddin. This collaboration continues the longstanding academic relationship between the two architecture schools, focusing on shared interests in regional architectural identity, sustainable design, and the future of built environments. seniBINA 2025 served as an international forum for architects, researchers, and academicians to exchange ideas, share findings, and discuss innovative approaches to architectural and urban challenges within the Southeast Asian context.

The partnership between Unhas and UKM significantly contributed to enhancing academic mobility, research visibility, and cross-cultural dialogue between Indonesia and Malaysia. Through active participation in this conference, the Department of Architecture at Unhas reaffirms its commitment to fostering international cooperation and promoting research that advances sustainable, inclusive, and culturally grounded architectural practices.
