Gowa, January 20, 2026 — The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University welcomed a visit from a researcher from the Australian Catholic University as part of efforts to strengthen international research collaboration in artificial intelligence and robotics. This activity is a strategic step in promoting technological innovation and expanding global partnership networks.

The visiting researcher, Mahmoud Bekhit, Ph.D., is a member of the Thematic Research Group for Artificial Intelligence Robotics (AIROS TRG) at Australian Catholic University. During his visit, Dr. Bekhit was guided and accompanied by Prof. Muh. Anshar, Ph.D.

The reception was held in an innovative atmosphere, where Dr. Bekhit was greeted by the Y-Bot robot, which helped direct him to the meeting room. This provided a real-life demonstration of the robotics technology being developed within the Faculty of Engineering.

The program continued with a visit to the laboratories and live demonstrations of various robotics systems. On this occasion, Dr. Bekhit expressed his interest in the technologies displayed and appreciated the quality of research, which he considered both innovative and inspiring.

In addition, the scientific discussions held provided a platform for the exchange of ideas among researchers, particularly in developing artificial intelligence-based robotics technology. This activity offered a memorable experience and further strengthened the potential for future collaboration.

The visit, which lasted about three hours, concluded with a preliminary agreement to explore further research collaborations in robotics. The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University hopes this partnership can develop into a sustainable joint research program and make a tangible contribution to the advancement of science and technology.
