Gowa, August 31, 2026 - The Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, hosted an academic visit from Mr. Abdul Wafi bin Razali, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Built Environment at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak, and Associate Professor Nazli bin Che Din from the Faculty of Built Environment at Universiti Malaya. They delivered a visiting lecture to the Master’s Program of Architecture students in the Department of Architecture meeting room. Mr. Abdul Wafi bin Razali presented on "Architectural Acoustics in Educational Learning Spaces," followed by Associate Professor Nazli bin Che Din's lecture on "Design Enablers for Better Classroom Acoustics: Creating Learning Spaces that Listen." This initiative aims to enhance students' knowledge and research skills in architectural acoustics.

The event commenced with a concise meeting intended to enhance academic collaboration. This meeting was subsequent to the Department of Architecture's academic visit to the Faculty of Built Environment at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak on September 18, 2025, and was followed by two online meetings concerning the planning of a matching grant collaboration on March 10, 2026, and a joint student workshop on July 1, 2026. The discussions during this meeting focused on the formulation of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and a Letter of Intent (LoI) between the two universities. Furthermore, preparations were undertaken for a joint workshop involving Master’s Program of Architecture students from the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University and the Faculty of Built Environment at Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS). This joint workshop is scheduled for November 2026 at the Faculty of Engineering Campus of Hasanuddin University.
