As part of the International Partnership Network Development Program (P2MJKI), Hasanuddin University carried out an academic visit to the University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia, from 21–25 November 2025. The program was led by Prof. Dr.-Ing. Ir. Faizal Arya Samman, a senior academic staff member of the Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Hasanuddin.

The visit was conducted under the theme “Academic Collaboration in the Field of Power Electronics and Power Semiconductor Devices for Renewable Energy Applications between UNHAS and UNSW.” This initiative aligns with Universitas Hasanuddin’s strategic research priorities in Food Security and Green Energy, while also responding to global challenges related to carbon emission reduction and the international commitment to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. It further supports the research roadmap of the Electrical Engineering Study Program in advancing New and Renewable Energy (NRE) systems and semiconductor device applications.

The visit also included tours of INSA Strasbourg’s academic facilities, such as student spaces, classrooms, libraries, and communal areas, providing valuable insights into the institution’s academic environment and learning culture. Informal discussions continued in a more relaxed setting, fostering closer academic ties and mutual understanding between both institutions.

As a concrete outcome, both parties expressed commitment to initiating joint research and international publications, as well as involving INSA Strasbourg academics as guest speakers and keynote speakers at future international conferences, including the Asian Vernacular Architecture Network (AVAN) Conference 2026, to be hosted by Hasanuddin University.

This academic visit represents a strategic step in expanding the global network of the Department of Architecture, Faculty of Engineering, Hasanuddin University, while reinforcing its commitment to international collaboration, cultural research, and academic excellence.
