Gowa, May 29, 2025 — Representatives from the Graduate School of Science and Engineering at Saga University, Japan, convened with the Faculty of Engineering at Universitas Hasanuddin (Unhas) to deliberate on the implementation of the Sandwich Program. This meeting occurred on Thursday, May 29, 2025, at the Faculty of Engineering, Gowa Campus, Unhas.
The collaboration is grounded in the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between Saga University and Unhas, aiming to offer students the opportunity to study as non-degree exchange students at the host institution. Participants in this program will not receive a degree from the host university but will be regarded as exchange students.
During the session, both parties examined the framework, scope, and anticipated outcomes of the program, with a particular emphasis on enhancing academic collaboration and mobility.
The meeting underscored the commitment of Unhas and Saga University to enhancing international academic exchanges and fortifying connections in engineering education and research.
This initiative is anticipated to facilitate increased access to collaborative research, knowledge transfer, and cross-cultural understanding between Indonesia and Japan. In addition to promoting academic mobility, this collaboration seeks to foster innovation, bolster institutional capacity, and equip graduates with the competencies required for global competitiveness. Through this partnership, the Unhas Faculty of Engineering reaffirms its position as a center for international collaboration in science and technology, while supporting Indonesia’s aspiration for global academic excellence.
