Makassar, January 28, 2026 – The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University (FT-UH) held an audience visit to the Makassar Class I Special Immigration Office TPI as part of coordinating the International Symposium on AIRC 2026 and a Community Service program to be held in Makassar City.

The FT-UH delegation was led by the Vice Dean for Partnerships, Research, Innovation, and Alumni, Prof. Dr. Eng. Ir. Rustan Tarakka, ST., MT., IPM., AER, accompanied by the Head of the Global Engagement Office (GEO) FT-UH, Prof. Muh. Anshar, ST., M.Sc-Res., Ph.D., along with the GEO team. The group was received directly by Abdi Widodo Subagyo, Head of the Makassar Class I Special Immigration Office TPI, and his staff.

During the meeting, FT-UH presented an overview of the International Symposium on AIRC 2026, a collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering at Unhas and the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology (FSCSIT), Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). The event is an international-scale academic forum that will bring together academics, researchers, and professionals from various countries.

In addition to the symposium agenda, the event will also be accompanied by a Community Service program as a form of dedication to society and tangible contribution from the university in supporting human resource development and strengthening international collaboration.

The meeting aimed to establish coordination and synergy, especially concerning immigration services support for international participants and speakers who will be attending in Makassar. Technical aspects, service mechanisms, and collaborative steps to ensure smooth administration throughout the event were also discussed.

Prof. Rustan Tarakka expressed his appreciation for the warm welcome and support from the Makassar Immigration Office. He emphasized that cross-sector collaboration is a key element to the success of international academic agendas, while also strengthening Makassar's position as the host of globally recognized scientific events.

Meanwhile, the Immigration Office affirmed its commitment to supporting the implementation of the event in accordance with existing regulations and to maintaining open channels of communication and intensive coordination ahead of AIRC 2026.

Through this audience, it is hoped that a strategic partnership will develop between FT-UH and the Makassar Class I Special Immigration Office TPI in supporting campus internationalization and strengthening global networks, while also delivering a positive impact on academic development and public services.
