The Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University (FT Unhas) welcomed an academic visit from Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM), Malaysia, on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. This event took place in the Dean’s Room on the 3rd floor of the Center of Technology (CoT) Building, Faculty of Engineering Unhas, and was part of ongoing efforts to strengthen international cooperation in academics and research.
The visit was a follow-up to an official letter from UTeM expressing their intention for an academic and courtesy visit to Hasanuddin University. The UTeM delegation was led by Dr. Fadhli bin Syahrial, Head of the Mechanical Engineering Program, Faculty of Mechanical Technology and Engineering, accompanied by Dr. Mohd Nur Azmi bin Nordin, Director of the Centre of International Students and Mobility, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka.
The main goal of the visit was to strengthen academic and research collaboration between the two institutions, especially in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Several topics discussed included the exchange of academic information, exploration of international research in plasma discharge, biomass, nanomaterials, polymers, composites, and robotics, as well as opportunities for collaboration in international journal publication.
In addition, the meeting also addressed the potential for cooperation in visiting lecturer programs and student exchanges, as well as other academic collaboration opportunities that can be developed sustainably between the Faculty of Engineering Unhas and UTeM.
The event was attended by the leadership of the Faculty of Engineering at Hasanuddin University, including Deputy Deans, the Head and Secretary of the Department of Mechanical Engineering, and the Head of GEO at the Faculty of Engineering Unhas.
