The Maker Innovation Space is funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) in partnership with Arizona State University (ASU) through the Higher Education Partnership Initiative (HEPI). This inauguration marks a significant moment in the collaboration between Indonesian and American higher education institutions, aiming to cultivate a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship. This initiative aligns with Indonesia's ambition to enhance the quality of teaching and programs to help students be job-ready upon graduation.

This Innovation Space (MIS) will serve as a dynamic environment where students, faculty, and researchers can convene to initiate, prototype, and develop solutions to real-world challenges. Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities including 3D printers, laser cutters, electronic prototype devices, and woodworking equipment, this facility will facilitate interdisciplinary collaboration and hands-on learning experiences.
